I have thousands of books, so when my puppy was young and chewed on one I made a spray of habanero juice and saturated it. When I gave it back to him he happily chewed on it again. That spray was too hot for me, but he loved it.
I had a dog do that once. I was packing for a trip, had to run out for something, and when I came back – rather quickly – one of my dogs had chewed every single page and the covers to one-inch squares, and a cat was sleeping on my clothes. I knew which dog it was and also knew she didn’t want me to leave. I considered it an act of love to digest the book, actually. Buckles is just a puppy who is still learned what he is allowed to do.

I have lost a few that way, but also from a boy that liked to lift his leg on the bottom of the book shelf.

You may think that, Buckles, but you won’t be curling up so comfortably once Paul and Jill find out what you did to that book.
