Polish jokes never sounded funny to me. What were popular when I was in high school (late 1960’s) were the same jokes but instead featuring Italians. I suspect that a lot of this was based on the ethnicity of the general region (in my case, California, wine county in fact). Also (along with Polish jokes), safer in many ways than featuring other ethnic or racial minorities.
