Did Mom grab him and force him into his winter clothes before kicking him out?

Wow. Calvin’s mom got him dressed for the cold in a nanosecond!

The longer you waste money leaving the door open to heat the neighborhood air, the less likely you’ll be allowed to keep dithering about a decision. Learn to dither all the way to decision before you open the door.

It’s a wonder that Calvin’s parents were never arrested for child abuse!

That’s the way it was in the 50’s, go outside and don’t come back until dinner.

If you don’t make a choice, you’ve already chosen—to let Mom decide for you.

Channeling his inner cat

My folks would have yelled and said, “In or out, we’re not paying to heat the whole outdoors.”

Calvin’s mom magically made all of his clothes in front of him.

When trying to make a decision, best not to stand in front of an open door. You can get run over by a decisive person.

My mother used to say that the weather is never so bad that the children cannot play outside.

It’s really nice that between the second and third frame, Calvin gets dressed for going outside ! ! ! !

We used to have a cat that did something like that. He would stand at the door, hollering to be let out. When you opened the door, he would stand 1/2 way in the doorway, and couldn’t make up his mind what to do. A gentle nudge with a foot helped him make up his mind. He would go outside, and then imediately meow wanting to come back in.

This is what cats do. It is important to consider the new situation before the escape door is closed. I am patient with my cats and am rewarded by their being patient with me. :)
