My Dachshund got out of the car, visited the park, quickly did her doodoo, let me do pick up and made a bee line back to the car. It’s cold and I appreciated the short ( no disrespect to her stature) duration.
Jaws-of-Death and his brother love the snow. However, there is a lot of ice that keepsgetting in his pads so he lifts his feet for me to clear it out. Maybe some booties would help but he’s 8 and I don’t think he’d take to them too well.
Days like this I am soooo thankful for a fenced in yard. They go out and rush right back in. Hopefully in a few days walkies will recommence when the ice melts and it is safe for their paws.
Aw, c’mon, Ralph. He’s your dog, your responsibility. Get your boots on, some warm clothes, grab a shovel and make a decent spot for him to go. Wally (who is my favorite) looks terrified about going outside. Can’t blame him … he’d be buried.
That was me and my dachshund yesterday. We’ve had several inches of snow over the last week with 20 degree temps. Yesterday we added 30mph winds and our front door and the spot where she goes were covered and buried. Poor girl had some cold buns peeing in the snow.
I’ve had piddle pads for my dogs (4 girls, one at a time) ever since I learned about them. They work much better than newspaper. And as each girl got older, the piddle pads were indispensable. My friend took a few of mine to see if her cat could/would use them, as she would only get her front half in the litter box, but her health was declining, and she died before we could see if they helped.

Sorry Wally but Oogie can do his business inside, you can’t!

People here in Boston walk their dogs regardless of the temperature. Which right now is only eight degrees Farenheit.

Preferably they take the outside permanently; right, Claude?
