I started reading this here because the local paper put this on the editorial page, then stopped printing Monday and Saturday papers, then stopped printing an actual paper but put it online Wednesdays and Fridays, and then stopped printing an editorial page on those two days. Now they put a thought for the day in the space.
I still subscribe to a paper that never ran this but it is printed only six days and a Saturday paper is online only.

How’d they get the head up there? Maybe Dad got cold and headed inside afterwards?

If you DON’T walk back to the house you will eventually succumb to hypothermia and die.

The worst thing that can happen to a kid who is out playing is to go IN. You may never get back OUT again, especially if it is close to dinner time.
So as kids, we’d play a game called, “How long can you hold it?”
