I don’t know…I don’t think that a fortune in candy canes would impress Santa anyway. He probably has an ample supply of candy canes. Cash, however, is always welcome. But NOT as a bribe!

    Today is:

    NATIONAL APP DAY

    NATIONAL STRETCHING DAY

    INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN DAY

    UNICEF BIRTHDAY

NATIONAL NOODLE RING DAY. National Noodle Ring Day recognizes recipes made with pasta into a delicious round casserole. While baking up your favorite recipe, maybe use round pasta noodles to really punctuate the ring in the day. However, the day celebrates the pasta dish formed in an 8 or 9-inch ring mold or bundt pan. Usually made from noodles, flour, breadcrumbs, cheese, eggs, and other seasonings, this dish is quite versatile. When baked, recipes call for the noodle ring to be removed from the mold and served on a plate giving it an elegant appearance.

BAKED NOODLE RING 2 cups cooked noodles2 cups med. white sauce1/2 cup grated cheese (2 oz.)1/2 cup pimento, finely chopped1/4 cup green pepper2 eggs, slightly beaten

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

Blend white sauce, cheese, pimento, green pepper and eggs. Pour sauce over noodles and mix lightly. Butter ring. Pack noodle mixture into mold evenly. Place mold in hot water and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until firm.To unmold, loosen noodle mixture from side of mold with spatula. Let stand for 5 minutes. Turn out onto platter and fill center with creamed fish, chicken or meat. Garnish with fresh parsley or watercress.

    Serves 8 to 10.

TUNA FISH VARIATION: Add 1 (7 ounce) can tuna fish, flaked to the noodle mixture before placing it in the mold. Serve with buttered peas.

I have never seen round noodles. The closest I could get would be Spaghetti-O’s. Somehow, I don’t think they would be the right choice for this recipe

Ches has all the angles. Say, what are all the other cats up to? We haven’t seen them much lately!

Sunday’s GARFIELD had the same dilemma. He decided he’d rather break a lamp than be good.

Way to butter up the big guy, Chesney. Doubt Santa will fall for it, though. On another note, saw ten chickadees, a wren, and a spotted towhee while out walking today.
