Perfect gift! Especially thinking about all the problems Brad hadhave with his hair. Luann is a thoughtful sister with a great (and sometimes a bit evil) sense of humor.
Reminds me of one of our early Christmases. When we got married my wife had a good stereo system. I mentioned that I wanted to buy a good tape deck to plug into it (this was in the early ’70s when cassette tapes were big). For Christmas that year, my wife, whom I loved dearly, gave me a….portable tape recorder.
Some of you long timers might remember Christmas week in 2009 starting on December 21 where an aged look with old yellowed newsprint was set as the backdrop. I asked Greg if he’d like that vintage look again and he agreed. The hues are less intense than usual because newsprint absorbs ink unlike glossy paper or a monitor. We used a similar approach in 2018 for an Aaron Hill memory on the May 1 thru May 5 drawings. I’m unable to get URLs to stick here. Just a note, I color over 20 features across three syndicates. Nobody gets the treatment GnK do because they really appreciate suggestions and always give me advance warning for new characters and complex drawing where details matter. For instance, the Halloween costumes for the party at The Manse. Last week’s snow scenes were challenging considering the tight holiday deadlines, but with a few acceptable compromises we stayed on schedule. That’s the most important priority, perfection being the enemy of done.
Can someone please decipher this? “Luann’s 1st 6, 12-25’s from ’85 2 ’90, 1986” I get the second part. 1985-1990, and this strip is from 1986. Is that Luann from the age of 12-25? It would have been a lot simpler to just put the original date the strip was printed.
It looks like some kind of animal is on her head. Yesterday’s strip had some full-face views that are more noticeable. What are the 2 spots that look like eyes supposed to be?

I can understand G&K wanting to take time off for the holidays, but couldn’t they have prepared advance strips of the current arc?
I’m sure many readers (myself included) would like to know how the de Groots managed being snowed-in in a tiny cabin.

Vintage Luann, meant to cleanse the pallet of the bad taste left by characters like Stef and Kip and Leslie and Ann Eiffel.

MY sister, on the other hand, knew JUST what to get me: a perfectly-fitting shirt of Tom Nook from Animal Crossing that says, Forever A Loan.XD

Relax everybody – Greg bent the forecast a bit for the 1988 retro strip. The universe will not implode. Promise.
