Am seeing a lot less comments. Posting vintage strips is a mistake. Don’t they realize if we want vintage strips we’d buy their collection books? Or look at them on their website? We don’t want them in here. Please don’t do it again. If you gotta go away, do your new strips in advance and not repost vintage strips please. Thank you.
Now, that’s something you don’t see much of: cameras, photo shops, putting your roll of film, or cassette into a special envelop to be sent off for developing and hoping that at least half of your shots wil turn out.
This strip has grown so much (with the young characters). It feels as if it used to be aimed at young readers; now, with more complicated situations, it appeals more to adults. And it’s nice that Luann and Brad have been allowed to mature in looks as well as their relationship. I know I read Luann back then, skimming over the comics pages, but I enjoy it a lot more now.
Yeah, my niece and nephew are around this age and they would never be so rude to each other. I didn’t witness any teasing over the holidays. In other words, can’t relate.
My mid-sized town, Bellingham WA, has a shop called Quicksilver that still sells and develops film. Good thing, as my camera might have part of an undeveloped roll in it that needs to be finished off.

TYPING IN BOLD Wait, we don’t have an overly in depth analysis of a comic strip as the lead comment?!?

What is this “film” of which you speak?

Wow. They really hated each other, didn’t they? No surprise, though. They’ve always gotten on each other’s case.

Now you know the REAL reason they developed digital cameras.

No film in the camera?

As a kid, Brad did have a fat face, which—fortunately—slimmed down when he grew up (and met Toni).
Might have been when Karen took over the strip.

Images on celluloid made subjects appear heavier.

They say the camera adds a extra few pounds. I wonder if that still holds true to this day?

Would you believe they still use disposable cameras?

When I was 17, it was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls
And soft summer nights
We’d hide from the lights
On the village green
When I was 17
It Was A Very Good Year -Song by Frank Sinatra

Why is the date on the strip 12/27?

Why so many flashbacks? No drawing this week? On vacation?

Why are you running old Luann strips, you on vacation?

Back for a breather when drawing was drawing and not enhanced works of art. It’s nice for a visit to those days.

Memories of a remote age. It was fun, but I think they are happier today.

Wouldn’t a better punchline be, “I don’t have a wide-angle lens”?

I went back and looked at what the December 27, 1987 (the day after) strip was. It was a Sunday and featured Delta.

Wasn’t all that funny then, isn’t all that funny now. But that’s oksy; even cartoonists need a vacation now and then….
