That’s the sort of gag I’d expect to see in a comic like Pearls Before Swine, where the characters are actually aware that that they’re in a comic strip

Parallel Universes would explain Aliens. Most people think they are from galaxies from distant light years away. What if they are just from a Parallel Universe that has been around billions of years more than us and they figured out how to jump the parallel point and they are really what we will evolve into and they are studying us the way that we study Egyptian tombs.
