Has Elly conveniently forgotten that she didn’t want a second dog? In fact, she didn’t want Farley when he was a pup!!

SPOILER ALERT: That creamer on the table there will spoil if they don’t refrigerate it.

I do not know what is going on with those changing panel sizes. They even did it that way in the original version from 1995.

That’s why I don’t volunteer at animal shelters. I know I’d want to take all those kitties and puppies home.

Mothering instincts? Sometimes those instincts can go out of control. When a child is brought into the world, it is a human being and not a piece of property to control. I’ve noticed this with some mothers controlling their children and not letting the child learn from experiences.

Best thing about puppies and kittens? No diapers.

That’s how I ended up keeping two of my female cat’s kittens, who aren’t so small and helpless any more.

Something EVERY dog owner needs to know.If you buy a dog ham bone from a pet shop for your dog, look at where it came from. If it came from China…DO NOT BUY IT. The Chinese manufacturers put GLYCERINE on it, and glycerine is toxic to dogs. It shuts down their kidneys and can kill them quickly…VERY quickly. Always read the label on the wrapping. Your vet can verify this.

When have either of these two ever demonstrated any of the traits that John mentions in the third panel?

Funny thing, when this was written cross breeds were mutts and we ‘found homes’ for them. Now they’re ‘designer breeds’ and can demand a great deal of money.

I know the feeling. I’m currently trying to re-home 3 kittens (took in a stray cat, turned out she was expecting). I really want to keep them, but can’t.

That’s the plot of “Children Ruin Everything”. She’s frustrated by her two kids and trying to go back to work and then she wants to get pregnant again.

It is instinctive in all mammals to protect the babies & youngsters. Babies, puppies & kittens all have that large head in proportion to their body and chubby short arms & legs, among other visual clues that arouse the nurturing instinct.

No need to remind me that predators will kill & eat youngsters of other (and sometimes their own) species. I’m aware of that. The instinct is a general rule, not an absolute.
