My mom always let us read what we wanted. She said that we would be more likely to consider reading if we had the choice of anything. In 8th grade I read all of Ian Fleming’s James Bond Books, a bunch of satires, and some classics. Now as an adult the book group I’m in allows each member one month to pick a book for the group to read. I’ve not read a lot of them because they were, to me anyhow, drivel. But then, the books I picked weren’t always popular. Everyone has different tastes in books. Don’t squash the desire to read!!!
