Sorry but no. A staycation is the same as a vacation, only you don’t go anywhere. It’s still a time to rest from working!

Abby has a big mouth……….

Abby, repeat after me: "“Not at all! My phone will be on do not disturb mode and closed to all calls, email, and texts (except for immediate family) until 8 a.m. a week from Monday. That’s when you may expect to hear from me again.” Your out-of-office time is sacred and if you don’t defend it ferociously no one else will, and you’ll be walked all over. Put as much dedication into your personal time as you do into your work time – it deserves it.

Opportunist! If Abby tried this she would get shut down fast with biting criticism!

She must not have heard you when you said you were planning some day trips and just relaxing. I didn’t hear anything about doing any work during YOUR time off!

I am on vacation next week. While my wife is gone, I will be doing a staycation, and there is no way that I will be taking any calls from the office.
