My MIL used to take care of our cats when we went on vacations. She called them her grandkitties.

At my son & DIL’s place, as soon as you sit down, you’ll have either a Cocker Spaniel or a Golden Retriever in your lap. I’m a cat person myself, but I love my Grandpuppies, & I’m VERY glad they’re not face-lickers!

Love it! Priceless! I currently take care of a little white doggie whose owner (the lady in whose home I rent a room) took a nasty fall and now has caregivers. By taking care of the dog, both the dog and the owner get to keep each other. I get some doggie cuddles, too, so it’s a win-win-win.

In the evenings my pup and I chase each other. Wife has to pause her TV news while we race around……she should join us. Beats the news.

I’ve always looked at pets as family members. When they were adopted by my parents, they were my brothers and sisters. If I adopt them, I’m their Mommy. My aunt’s dogs are my cousins. And my cat is her great-nephew.

Cats own us, we do not own them.

Ah Dogs. I love them more than most people.
