That’s what they hear. I work in retail so I know what they buy when the weather even remotely goes bad. Height of Covid was the worst. LOTS of panic buying.

Oh yeah, here in FL if we often have panic buying at the supermarkets, Lowes and Home Depots if we have any sort of Tropical Storm/Hurricane where our area is in that dreaded “cone of uncertainty” let alone a real watch or warning. When I lived in Tuscaloosa AL, ditto for when we would have a winter storm watch or warning like the one that hit T-Town this week with freezing rain.

How apropos, the weather map shows the southern part of the US. The mere thought of snow and they cancel school, close the roads and everyone hunkers down for the apocalypse

There’s a 100 percent chance he’s wrong. My sister lives in central PA and they were being told a big snow storm was due any minute for three days. Day 4 is when it finally showed up. Same here (southern UT) last week. We FINALLY got some snow on the 11th.

And make sure you have paddles for your canoe… just in case it’s not frozen.

    There’s a 50% chance you’ll panic, and a 50% chance you’ll go mental.

If it were possible, I would demand the Weather Service come to my house, and clean the snow out of my driveway, and that of my 101 year old neighbor. They forecast nothing more than “snow showers,” and we ended up with between 4, and 7 inches. I had brought my snowblower into the shop for some tuning up, so, I had to shovel. I’m too old for that!
