Actually, Elvis has some pretty good ideas!

Welcome Orbsters to the first, dare I say annual, BPH weird desk marble races. Today one lucky marble will take home all the, umm, marbles? We go now LIVE to Elvis with the roll by roll call.

Marble races! I didn’t know anyone else did that!

Is that an actual hardwood floor under the slanty desk?

I think the marbles are doomed. So is Goldie.

Elvis has non stop ideas but can’t see when someone needs help…

Could it be that the Woman is an artist of some sort???

Do not speak to me of maps. I worked for an archive as a page for two years in grad school, and the maps collection was the bane of our existence. Badly cataloged, erratically “shelved” (they were in drawers), and awkward to move, because of course we’re talking about large fragile originals here. I finally got fed up and spent my last few months there making a basic but up to date inventory. I hope it was useful.

It’s a drafting table. Keep the Allen wrench around, as those are notoriously difficult to move when they’re assembled, and may not fit through the doorway.

I liked my drafting table. It was sturdy.

I came across a very small drafting table at an antique shop many years ago. It was in wonderful shape, cast iron legs and mechanism and had a beautiful patina on it. It must have been lovingly used. I should have bought it because whoever had consigned it had no clue what they were selling, but I didn’t. There are very few things I regret not buying on my forays, but that table was one of them.

And just and FYI, I tried answering a couple comments yesterday and I can’t. They won’t go through so I’m not ignoring anyone. Sorry. Another GC quirk, I guess.

Goldie seems determined to sleep on that desk, no matter what!

I heard a crash at 2AM. Got up this morning and discovered that one of the cats (or more) had knocked a candle off its shelf, and the lid had shattered all over the living room floor. There were also a couple of bloody pawprints. I swept up the debris and checked paws, but nobody has any overt sign of injury.

It IS a drawing table. My grandpa used his to paint on.

I hope woman has a good mat for the table as it looks like it will have some deep scratches in it.
