If the egg hatches, it’s a blended family. If someone eats the egg, it’s a nutritious breakfast.

But I want to know who’s the father of that egg. You’ll probably need to hire a hardboiled detective to find him. Your cat and dog both recommend Sam Spayed.

…allowing Nora to have her animals in the house was the wife’s idea…

    …not mine …

    …yes…

…the wind chill was going to be minus 30°…

    …but I blame these modern light bulbs…

…used to be you’d stuff some straw in…

    …and a 100 watt…

    …and Snoopy stayed nice & toosty…

…I had to balk letting at letting Gertrude in…

…I only like my chicken warm …

The chicken almost had the cat convinced that it (the cat) had laid the egg, but couldn’t keep a straight face. Even so, the cat has decided to adopt the egg and raise the hatchling. We’re all anticipating a fun experiment exploring “nature or nurture”. Or dinner (for the cat).

Eggsactly what one would expect from such a blended household! Now, what’s to become of the egg? Will it spawn another generation of chick for the householder?

I’ve seen enough of those “cute” animal behavior videos on Social Media to expect nothing less than a Happy Outcome for all involved, doggy, kitty, Ma chicken, householder, potential new chick.

Is everybody happy? (Ted Lewis, 1929.)
