Anticipating my retirement some 5 years ago, I purchased an “old-lady’s cart”—a lightweight, folding basket-cart, with the idea that I would run errands by walking to them! Since I live just a half mile from most of the stores I frequent, it worked out beautifully … until last year when my hip began paining me and stopped my long walks. However, a new hip this February got me walking again this spring, so once again my car only racks up about 10 miles a week.
