A doctor’s certificate? Is that something new?

California requires proof of vaccinations and a physical for students who are in sports

Our granddaughters started week before last.

Sorry Twig. You are the student. The recent and strange idea of adolescence notwithstanding you are also old enough to running a household through most of human history (There’s been more than one monarch your age in Europe alone). It’s your problem.

I worked in a pediatric office for 22 yrs. Parents called right before school started or even on day 1 and needed the appt for physical yesterday!!!! We started reminding them at the end of previous school year! And their shot were not up to date but needed physical before could get shots. So glad I’m retired.

Back “in my day”, the vaccinations were delivered in the school. I doubt that it had anything to do with fears that some doctors might falsely certify a vaccination. It was simply more efficient to get it all done in a day or two, with no separate transportation required, since all the “patients” were already there in one place… the school.

And as far as I know, the cost was in the school budget. I know the parents weren’t charged separately for it.
