growing up my parents had a little place by the beach in Charlestown RI but we lived in Providence about 40 miles away…from the time i was about 7 my folks started leaving me down there all summer alone – now i say alone but my buddy Keith lived next door and i slept in his boy scout tent every summer night from like 1960 to 70, and his mother was there all summer too, but also no phone…nearest pay phone was a mile away at Browning’s Store…had outhouse and pump for water, but after living in city all winter long, it was Heaven
