I’m so pleased to see that the man at the desk is in “Personnel,” not “Human Resources” or “Human Capital.” I’m also pleased to see, from the expression on his face, that he has no intention of hiring this dimwit.
Human Resources (HR) are often called Human Remains in our company. We’re yet to figure out what they actually do. Ask a question – ‘dunno’ comes back. “We’ll look into it” but never hear from them again. Every so often we get asked to fill in a questionnaire so that they can update their database (with data they should know anyway). Yet 6 months later after giving them all that info, they ask for it again. Honestly – a waste of space. It seems the only time they actually get involved is to figure out how much yearly bonus we won’t be getting.
