Looking closely at last Sunday’s strip, when this whole thing began, Borgia seems to be drinking right before he starts gagging, if you squint can see his little finger raised, like he’s drinking from a tea cup. Maybe Palmer did poison the tea, r the sugar, & drank some of it, but took an antidote earlier. I seem to recall something like this happened in a Breaking Bad episode, in that one the killer used poison mixed in with Sweet n Low. Stay tuned.
So, to sum up, we’ve supposedly eliminated the sandwich, the tea, the plates, cups, and teapot, and the sugar, but there has to be something not so obvious. As BreathlessMahoney77 just said, we saw that Borgia was drinking tea at the time when he cried out due to poisoning.
Was it Batster who called the guy sitting in the background yesterday as the killer? Yep. And the question becomes how? I’m still going with my antacid tablet suggest. And coincidence, of course, that Sam just happened to go into a deli for a crime.
1-COOKIE: I got Hepatitis A, B & C but that doesn’t kill immediately. So – not it!
2-DUDE: Peace Pig! I’m into Flower Power and Free Love! So – not it!
3-DONNIE DROPOUT: Oh man – I’m just hopin’ I don’t lose this great gig! I can work “high” and eat anything the customers don’t finish. I was out back huffing some of Cookie’s non-stick spray when that weird guy dropped! So – not it!
4-DT: Victimski barely nibbled this. I don’t think it’s poisoned. SAM! GET OVER HERE AND EAT THIS AND PROVE ME RIGHT! SAM: YES SIR!
5-DT: I guess by process of elimination, YOU’RE IT, MR. PERPSKI! PERPSKI: You didn’t question Poopski. Or Teakettle Lady. DT: DANG IT! Uhhhh, anyone else?
Mr.Borgia didn’t add anything to his sandwich and apparently took only one small bite. If the sandwich poisoned him, it was pretty powerful and quick-acting poison.
….I do notice washer-boy’s shirt is out on one side….reminds me of the “Gus” character in the SKULL comic strip that Sherpa comics ran some time ago……..mmmph, kinda looks like Gus, too……..
I don’t intend faint praise but I’ll make the observation that Dee’s work is well-thought out. The backgrounds and posing support the dialogue perfectly.

Good morning™, Dodgy excuses !
Each one feeling the strain of Tracy’s incessant questions. Let’s zoom in on waiter guy as he looks genuinely scared of being discovered.
As for Palmer; I think he’s a Yale man as a Harvard hombre would never stoop so low. [Chuck Winchester approves this message.)

It was probably the special plate. Also, it that special guest Mr. Fisholder from Bob’s Burger?

At least the dishes were put through the dishwater at least once, a question asked early on in the comments.

Not bad artwork today. The body language and the facial expressions of the witnesses are handled very well.

When Dick Tracy says, ‘May I ask you a few questions’, you know it can’t be good. Why doesn’t someone just say ‘no, you can’t’.

I’m suspicious of people who wear pure white suits. They want to see how many people they can kill without getting blood spatters on them.
