Caskets, like everything else in a funeral, are for the living. The dead are beyond caring.

I was just reading a book called ‘The Wager, A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder.’ David Grann. One of the interesting facts is that when they would sew someone into a shroud for burial at sea the last stitch would be through the corpse’s nose to make absolutely sure they were completely gone.

People are dying to get in, too!

Some funeral directors are unscrupulous and in a time of grief, they lead the families to the most expensive caskets …it’s a racket….I read a book decades ago on the practices some impose….pitiful.

It was good while it lasted, but eventually the customers died out
