Pucky is such a good boy, and a good friend. I love the empathy he shows here. He’s letting Goldie express her feelings. And good on Goldie for telling the truth, not wanting to just go through the motions. It’s time for some serious Goldie SPARK !

Someone needs a case. An intriguing one.

Maybe Goldie should consider advertising on one of the local cat chanels.

Dang it Jim, I’m a detective not a reporter!

Yeah, I had a job like that, but I got paid. I’m rooting for you, Goldie, to find intrigue and mystery and nail the culprits.

She should check in the other two floors, see if there’s anything going one there.

Yeah, Goldie! You know your work and your worth and you deserve to embrace both. Can’t wait to see the role she makes for herself.

I love Pucky’s loaf! ❤ And he’s such a good listener. I love his placid smile in the last panel, encouraging Goldie to tell him more about her love of detective work.

I hope Goldie gets what she needs. It may be that Puck understands.

I wonder if someone will create a mystery for her to solve.

A journalist is just a detective who publishes, anyway.

Beatrixia: It looks great. Just the thing for making silk hats.

Ishaq: I thought maybe we could do a hat making class at the upcoming fundraiser.

Puckmosis: And we’d love to have you come with us back to Egypt if you’d like, Ari.

Arachna: I’d love to. It’d be great to see Adobe Style, Tillie, and Soph.

Bea: They have your favorite window all set aside for you to spin a room.

Ari: Then it’s settled. I’m coming with you.

Bea: Yay!

Puck: You’ll be glad to know the Cosmo Nursery’s spring apple trees are in bloom.

Ari: Just in time to make apple spider!

Still curious where this desire for investigation will lead Goldie. There is, as she points out, not much to investigate in the BPH

It’s not easy sometimes to get to the actual topic you want to discuss. But I think Puck will be understanding and forgiving.

I do wonder where this is going.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all Orbsters out there. Goldie definitely needs a nice tough case to sink her teeth and claws into.

The best reporters are also good detectives.

An instructor was interrogating 3 cats who were training to become detectives.

To test their skills in recognizing a suspect, he shows the first cat a picture for 5 seconds and then hides it.

“This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?”

The first cat answers, “That’s easy, we’ll catch him fast because he only has one eye!”

The instructor says, “Well…uh…that’s because the picture I showed is his side profile.”

Slightly flustered by this ridiculous response, he flashes the picture for 5 seconds at the second cat and asks him, “This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?”

The second cat smiles, flips his whiskers and says, “Ha! He’d be too easy to catch because he only has one ear!”

The instructor angrily responds, “What’s the matter with you two?!!? Of course only one eye and one ear are showing because it’s a picture of his side profile! Is that the best answer you can come up with?”

Extremely frustrated at this point, he shows the picture to the third cat, Goldie, and in a very testy voice asks, “This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?

He quickly adds, “Think hard before giving me a stupid answer.”

Goldie looks at the picture intently for a moment and says, “The suspect wears contact lenses.”

The instructor is surprised and speechless because he really doesn’t know himself if the suspect wears contacts or not.

“Well, that’s an interesting answer. Wait here for a few minutes while I check his file and I’ll get back to you on that.”

He leaves the room and goes to his office, checks the suspect’s file on his computer and comes back with a beaming smile on his face.

“Wow! I can’t believe it. It’s TRUE! The suspect does, in fact, wear contact lenses. Good work! How were you able to make such an astute observation?”

“That’s easy…” Goldie replied. “He can’t wear regular glasses because he only has one eye and one ear.”

Who knew cats can prop their chin on their front paws while sitting in loaf position.

I may be way off here, but I think I smell a Breaking Cat Mystery coming in 3… 2… 1…

Goldie’s an investigative reporter! Like Woodward & Bernstein.

I wonder if her wanting to be a detective means we will see less of her as she embarks on her new career or maybe her exploits will be big stories here?

Wow, this must be important, because Pucky has activated LOAF MODE!
