I used to be able to sing a note only audible to dogs. Maybe. My dog seemed to act like he could hear it.

I was expecting a whole bunch of dogs to show up with the joke being that Marigold was singing at a note humans can’t hear but dogs can.

You could probably write a song about this.

Do garage door remotes really use ultrasound?

I remember a 70s comedy show, I think it was called “Holmes and Yo-yo”, where the titular Yo-yo was a human looking robot working as a cop. A running gag was that he kept reacting to nearby remotes, like revolving along with a garage door.

“““Most remotes use a specific (radio) frequency in the range of 300-400MHz“““

Although there seem to be newer ones who are “smart“ and use WiFi.

Or, it could be a ship at the local navy base running an equipment test that accidentally opened everyone’s garage doors.

I remember hearing once about how the US military were experimenting with a new communications system (or something to that end, I don’t remember the exact details off-hand) in California by making various test transmissions, only to discover a very critical flaw when they learned that every time they broadcasted something, several automatic garage doors in the nearby towns would open simultaneously, confusing a lot of the residents.

I guess Phoebe lives in a house with an old garage door opener that has an ultrasonic remote.
