I was listening to an expert on cults, and he was asked about the frequent comparisons of MAGA to a cult. His answer was sobering. He said that the movement indeed exhibits many characteristics of typical cults, and that if it follows the typical path, it will end in violence, no matter what happens to Trump. If Trump is re-elected, there will be a slow-burn violence against any who offend dear leader. If he loses or of it looks like he’ll go to prison, there’s a strong possibility that he’ll pull an “end-game” that many cult leaders do when the walls are closing in He’ll essentially have the cult self destruct in a spasm of violence aimed both externally and internally (the example he used was David Koresh and the Branch Davidians). In other words, he didn’t see how the Trump phenomenon would end without significant bloodshed.

Texas threatened to secede once. Maybe we should let them go….

They should outfit you with muzzle loaders and the other side with M-4A1s.
