This old dame looks like she could be Miss Grundy’s mom. P.2. hearkens to an earlier time while P. 3. looks more modern, given the squared high rises where architecture of the 1930s would be more roundish. Could this be an Annie origin story ?
It’s orphanage Matron Miss Asthma who hasn’t been seen since 1925! This might be present day. Thank goodness Charnin, Meehan and Strause gave us Miss Hannigan!
Sorry fellas, I’m lost on this storyline. It seems to be all over the place. Am I expecting too much too soon? Has the capture of Fata been put on the backburner? I’m convinced B.O. (Bob Oscar) Plenty with make an appearance soon with his chicken Henrietta, even if is just to attend the MCU and call Tracy “Macy” while discussing nothing much of importance.
There was a house on the east side of Detroit that housed young girls that were left alone because of the WW 11 draft . Men and women had their last swing and the result was a child ? ::: (((( The old school that I went to had a few of them there : (
Harold Gray hinted that Miss Asthma knew Annie’s parentage, which she shared with Mrs. Warbucks. Then the orphanage burned down and all records were lost, and when Mrs. Warbucks was lost at sea, this knowledge was also lost and Harold Gray never revisited the idea.
…maybe “daddy” and D.T., based on whatever this “Bob Smith” (Buffalo? The way THIS strip’s goin’, even THAT would not surprise me…) has in that plain brown paper bag, plan to “drop Annie back off at the ’ol orphanage” to do…..a ’lil detective work?
Okay then . Mike Curtis stuck us with this turkey and we got a new less than stellar artist so I guess there’s nothing to do but ride it out . The way I figure this should work is because we have to suffer through this is that Curtis owes us . Owes us big time and we , the fans of Dick Tracy , are owed a real Dick Tracy crime noir tale and this new artist owes it to us to take on a “Gould-esque” style .

Good morning™, all!
Is this the orphanage where Annie was? I think maybe we are going back in time to some of Annie’s history.

Gotta hand it to grandma, she’s old and frumpy but she still takes the time to paint her nails! Well done, little lady!

Do orphanages still exist in America? I thought group homes and fostering had pretty much replaced them.

Morning, Anniephans! If this is the same orphanage and the same matron then Miss Asthma is about 150 years old!

Miss Asthma was just the warm up for Mrs. J.Bleating-Hart,the most monstrous busybody in the st rip’s history.
Oh—-Mr.Ettinger—there hasn’t been a mistake.BO Plenty and Gravel Gertie are SUPPOSED to look like that.

So has anyone found out why this story was pushed up to NOW instead of the Planned Summer feature? (Annie’s 100th Anniversary is in August)
[Unnamed Reader - 14b4ce] 9 months ago
Won’t be back until Tuesda March 6th,things to do at home.
Well,it takes time to get a kid out of the orphanage;I don’t think I’ll miss very much.
Will we see “Emily Lou” again? In the early days Annie had a rag doll she took everywhere.Naturally, some other kid eventually stole it.

If the parents are still alive, are they entitled to a cut of the Warbucks zillions, and will Oliver be in a mood to give it to them?
