Humans challenge each other to duels by slapping their opponent with a white glove. What’s the hoof equivalent?

What color will #2 be with her/his (I don’t think this has been determined yet, or if it even needs to be) gold off?

There can only be one Marigold in this strip, it’s not big enough for the two of them.

In any unicorn conflict, losing cannot occur. Consequently, winning cannot happen. However, conclusions result and everyone is happy!

Well Marigold #2 was …… oblivious about having to do a “Marigold-Off” AND she is just too open and honest about not knowing stuff ….. I think Marigold #1 has the Marigold-Off won before the gloves…..er horseshoes come off!

Hang on! To have a legitimate Marigold-Off, we need to know what is the definition of Marigold.

And before anyone else says it… UNICORN!!!

I would say what they must do is picket the artist, who brought in a “scab” Marigold. But the real reason I say that is: the idea of unicorns levitating picket signs that break the fourth wall amuses me … in an evil chessmaster way. I’ll sit back with a fine vintage of root beer and laugh cruelly as chaos sweeps the comics page….

I’d still like to know the other Marigold’s full name.

Well, from my point of view, Marigold Heavenly Nostrils is by far the prettiest unicorn. Something about that greenish-brown hue of the other Marigold that reminds me of pond scum. I think with her wavy mane, another color would make her quite beautiful, but pond-scum green?

Marigold 1 and marigold 2 have different color coats, maybe they are from different families and by coincidence have the same name, #2 might be “Marigold Golden Coat” or some such!
