Just wondering if she’s in the junk drawer or the whatchamacallit drawer.

Try thingamajings for a change.

Even the candy bar?

Does that mean you’ve become a … Plugger?

Or thingamabobs

And doohickeys, and thingamabobbers, and widgets and thingummies.

I’ve got a couple kitchen drawers crammed with ‘thingies’.

We occasionally spend time looking for the whatsit, but will usually settle for a thingummy.

You know, the thing

or whosawhatsit ….thingamabob….. dohickey…..

It is a sign of an aging brain to forget names for things. Forgetting names can also be due to the side effects of some medications.

It is frustrating for me, as a writer, to know that there is a better word for what I want to say, but not being able to recall it. I still have a grip on grammar, but sometimes vocabulary slips through my fingers.

As she got older, my mom called everything a “thingamajig”

And she puts them all in that whatyoumaycallit drawer. :)

I can identify with that.

Yup…I’m there, doin’ that!

We call them “things”. It’s shorter.
