I know people who seem to ask this about every movie they see. As if a movie won’t be worth watching if it ISN’T based on a true story. Even when a movie is, the operative words are ‘based on.’ We trust ancient historical writings to be accurate down to the last word, but recent movies about recent events make big changes. I suspect that all recorded history is only ‘based on’ what happened, and is full of changes made to tell a better story.

Absolutely. If the Gran Turismo movie is based on a true story, then Lord of the Rings can claim the same thing.

Police already know that if you’ve got 5 witnesses, you’ve got 5 different versions.

Wow, that is an intriguing observation. One of those things I never really though about but makes perfect sense.
