Hunting is no fun if you stand even the slightest chance of losing.

Hunters do sometimes lose, but it is normally at the hands of their hunting partners.

Never regarded hunting as sport, though. It’s just a more intimate way to get meat to feed the family.

Lean meat? Guess you don’t know many hunters. It’s gonna be fatty and greasy.

I second kkittenpah’s statement. It’s only city people who think hunting is strictly recreational. I’ve known a lot of guys to fill the family freezer through the winter by hunting.

Not all my hunting expeditions have been successful. It’s called hunting, not finding, just as fishing is not always catching.

I’ve enjoyed my hunting even more after I started doing it with a single shot black powder rifle only.

Some of my most memorable hunts were camping out in the woods for a week with all the fall colors and peace and quiet and not getting a shot at anything. That’s the recreation part of it.

When the critter’s armed, too, it’s more of a sport. Otherwise, it’s a camping trip with a chance to fill the freezer.

On a technical note, the way he’s holding that rifle, if he pulls the trigger then his right eye will be replaced by a scope sticking half way into his skull.

In the 1990s there was a video game on the market called “Deer Avenger”; you’re an armed deer, hunting the hunters. Anyone remember it?
