It’s kind of funny that to many people reading this, VSCO girls are the “new young person thing” but to many people in the demographic, that idea is already pretty old and dated.

I had to look up VSCO! What is now the new thing?

The think the extremely online, Theater Girls, etc. are in the 18+ section. For tweens like Heart the choices are more like Mother Hubbard and Sears Industrial.

I didn’t expect this to be an educational strip, but now I know: "There are several specific hallmarks of a “VSCO girl,” which includes scrunchies, oversized T-shirts, clothing from the store Brandy Melville, Vans, Pura Vida bracelets, Fjällräven Kånken backpacks and Puka shell necklaces." (NBC News, of all places)

Now I know I’m old. I had to look up VSCO girl.

Avoid Madonna, Katy Perry, or Lady Gaga styles.

I have a 12-year-old grandniece and she was thrilled to buy her first ‘real’ bra. (After she told me to go to the bookstore and leave her alone in VS with store help.)

I’m pretty sure that theatre girl is a VERY old teen archetype. The grey one could be good for an experimental theatre type.

Even after wading through all the comments, I had to look up “… the VSCO girl, whose name comes from the photo-editing app (pronunciation: “visco”) …” (see voxDOTcom/the-goods/2019/9/24/20881656/vsco-girl-meme-what-is-a-vsco-girl) Apparently it’s already obsolete, as this article is almost 5 years old.

“Theater girl”? Howard Hughes designed the Hollywood Special for Lana Turner. But I think it’s out of fashion again. A true engineering marvel.
