When I lived in Oklahoma, back in the 60s and 70s, there was an “interesting” law about purchasing alcohol. If you were 21, you could buy alcohol, but you couldn’t use a car to take it home. Even if all the alcohol was in unopened bottles, and they were in the trunk of the car, where you couldn’t get to them while driving, you were breaking the law if there was alcohol in the car. So, unless you lived within walking distance of a liquor store, you had a problem.

Ha! If it’s no big deal you won’t mind putting it back where you found it.

Years ago I worked at a Warehouse club. I would often ask ladies in their 40’s or 50’s for ID when they were purchasing alcohol. Most would get very excited to be carded and talk about how it had not happened in a long time. I always figured I was just doing my part to make the world a happier place.

I saw something interesting a couple of years ago online. Not sure if it was correct or not because we all know how unreliable information on the internet can be.

It’s illegal in all states for someone between the ages of 18-20 to PURCHASE alcohol. But, depending on the state, it may not be necessarily illegal for that person to CONSUME alcohol in a private residence.

My cousin said a friend of theirs turned 18 today. Suggested cuz offer to take the friend out for a beer in 12 years when he can legally drink.

My 30 year old daughter, working at a convenience store, carded me her father. I said really? She pointed to a surveillance camera and said if anyone is looking it would mean my job regardless how old you look.

Americans are so weird about alcohol, but you let virtually anyone buy a gun with minimal checks.

“We’ll vote against liquor by the drink as long as we can stagger to the polls.” – Will Rogers. RIP, J Howard Edmondson. I’m sure OK has its fair share of deaths due to drunk driving. How’s alcoholism in Iceland?
