Cue up John Anderson’s I’m Just an Old Chunk of Coal.
If only Superman was there to squeeze him into a diamond!
Diamond. The Early Days.
But look at all those Christmas Stockings he gets put into. How many diamonds get to do that?
I’ve always thought diamonds were too boring. I prefer the more colorful gems such as ruby, emerald, and sapphire.
Even many/most actual gemstones don’t become real jewels until they are cut and polished – and put in a nice setting.
I love diamonds.

Baah! You guys are the same as me, except now you’re just crystallized carbon with your atoms all stacked neatly!
I prefer coloured gems to diamonds.
You left out “I Guess!”
Are we again trotting out that tired, old (allo)trope?
Don’t feel so pressured! There’s another job for you! Warming homes and businesses!
FYI- burning Coal is warm but dirty. Not used as much as during the WWII era.
The coal better hurry, the Ides of March is nigh …!
A day for Jewel the singer. Cool.
So, the lump of coal has a pressing appointment, eh?
For some reason this comic makes me want to go fly a kite!
Pace yourself.
I thought they were kites!
But look at their carbon footprint!
if the coal becomes a diamond does that make it trans-gem-der?
Just a diamond in the rough.
