    Good morning™, everyone!

Special appearance by Sandy. Even though Sandy is “too young for this story,” readers have been asking to see him. I think this is the first time he has appeared in the Dick Tracy strip.

Sandy’s awake, but I’m still asleep from this D O.A. story.

Either Sandy grew or Annie’s a midget!

Sandy’s right paw is making me uncomfortable. This is a family strip!

Why is Warbucks looking right at us and giving us the middle finger?

What does he know that we don’t???

“Well, don’t feel left out, Sandy, you’re too young to be in this story”. Who is Warbucks kidding? Several litters came into existence before the pups who were Sandy’s parents gave birth to him. Or is Sandy a female? I never really knew.

How many community theater productions of “Annie” started rehearsals with Sandy in 5 scenes and ended up with just 2 because they couldn’t find a scruffy brown mutt with sufficient training?

P2 looks like it could be a classic pose. Well done! That’s frameworthy.

Otherwise, there’s really nothing to say about the lack of a story here.

Maybe “ARF” means: “Let me out, I gotta go do duty”……..

It is important, for the sake of logical (like that means anything in DT) continuity, for the Grays to be killed. It would be wise, therefor, for us to not invest too much emotional connection with the doomed couple. I compliment Mike’s ability to leave me with no emotional feelings for them whatsoever.

SERIOUSLY?!?! Hard to get real involved in a story that makes fun of itself.

1-BOB SMITH, ESQ: I found this dog in my garage along with your parent’s photos. You want him? DT: What? That makes no sense!

2-ANNIE: Oh Daddy-O! Can I keep him? I’ll feed him and walk him and…

3-DADDY-O: These ain’t my carpets so I don’t care. BUT HE GOES TO DIET FOR USE IN EXPERIMENTAL DRUG TESTING BEFORE WE RETURN HOME! ANNIE: I’ll name him “SAM!” because he doesn’t appear to be too bright and he has really bad “DOG BREATH!”.

    DT: Yeah. I get it…

Sandy’s agent is lobbying for more diverse dialog. An earlier attempt, ‘meow’, opened a whole can of legalistic worms, hence his being in hiding until today. THAT little ‘oopse’ nearly bankrupted DW.

Finally some “Interesting action” in this arc.

Just kidding. The story might be moving slower than a crippled snail on the Bonneville Salt Flats, but some of Annie’s background story is actually interesting (even if Mike is making it up on the fly)

Sneaky bit of Trivia that just caught up with me about Annie’s "parentage’ in this arc; Harold Gray, was the creator of the original Little Orphan Annie comic strip back in 1924. So, in a sense, he actually was Annie’s father.

SPOILER ALERT! The Annie Warbucks entry on Dick Tracy Wiki on Fandom has now listed Harold and Winifred Gray as Annie’s parents, but also both as (gasp) deceased! OH NO!! lol
