The Siamese is loosing so much fur it is beginning to look like I can make a sweatIher from an open field.

Except you’ve got to spread it all over the house. Everywhere. Every nook and cranny.

Ah yes, it’s shedding season. I know this well.

Ah, the Vacuum Cleaner’s nightmare days…

Dog or cat hair will stick to everything but the dog or cat!

Truth! And when you have several of either species, it does feel like you could knit a whole new one.

But keep those winter clothes nearby (in some cases!)

Nesting material for the birds.

I bet that’s how Floof got her name. Kate was there when Floof’s winter fur fell off all at once and made a “Floof” sound!!

When our pups would start shedding their winter coats, you could brush out enough hair to make another dog or knit sweaters.

I could knit a tribble every day from what my four shed.

They’ll make more

I have a goat named Yeti. This time of year he’s shedding his winter white wool and it comes off in chunks. He looks like his namesake. His summer coat is brown.

Ah, shedding season! Every time I stroke Sanibel, a cloud of fur rises into the air as my hand pulls away.

My favorite is the cathair tumbleweeds. I love Floof’s beatific smile (“Ah, feels SOOOO good!”)

They’re called Furbabies for a reason. :)

My cats are in full Shed mode. No shaving needed. Plenty left.

Spring is just one ‘bloomin’ thing after another! ;-)

so lucky that neither Levi [my Shitsu] nor Gracie [my chihuahua] shed.

When it comes to hair, some owners don’t worry about Spring shedding. If you live within certain parallels (in this hemisphere south of a certain parallel and in the opposite hemisphere north of a certain parallel) you will have year long shedding. So you actually are used to sweeping and vacuuming every day! That or you can get a “hairless” dog.

Back in the mid-80’s I had stuffy nose and itchy eyes. My ‘Houston’ doctors said ‘get rid of the cats’ and didn’t prescribe anything to help or recommend an over the counter. I kept my fur babies, all 4 of them. I moved to Charleston in 1999 and my new doctor asked me questions about my itchy eyes, running nose, etc. He told me ‘Let me prescribe something to help your allergy so you can keep your kitties’. I swear I heard an angelic chorus doing a rousing start to the Alleluia Chorus.

Our birds are shedding, or something… molting, whatever…

Now, if my wife and I owned a pillow factory, we wouldn’t be worrying about a supply pf feathers.

Our dogs love to brush up against people who are wearing black in the hospital. I try to warn them before they pet and cuddle our dogs.
