We have elaborate smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in our house. The one feature that I don’t like is the false alarm that always goes off the night before you have to leave early in the morning for the airport. Cause of alarm; spiders or dust in the unit that is at the very top of the tallest room in the house causing you to bundle up and retrieve the tall ladder out behind the shed. Of course it’s raining…..
Had an alarm go off one night with the low battery beep. Husband couldn’t get the battery out to change it and didn’t want to wake up that much, so he yanked the entire off the ceiling and tossed it down stairs on the couch. A few minutes later we heard the BEEP again, getting closer. A moment later our renter banged politely on the bedroom door, she’d fallen asleep on the couch and in the dark he’d tossed the alarm on her lap. “Can you please tell me how to shut this thing up?”
I put new batteries in ALL the alarms this morning. A few will receive that attention in Sept and Oct.
(On month of November calendar I left Note to self to buy a new carbon monoxide alarm for 3rd floor even though the gas is turned off.) Daughter currently uses microwave when visiting.

It’s a very sensitive smoke alarm. Perhaps a little too sensitive. But it’s a good reminder to put your candles out when or before you go to bed.
Perhaps also a reminder that people can’t smell while they are sleeping.

“Yo! Wake up!”
If my alarm said that to me, I would listen to it a lot quicker.

If they have the tech for smoke detectors, why are they burning candles?
