Saw one filtered through a stand of bamboo onto a wall. Hundreds of tiny eclipses winking as the wind shifted the gaps between leaves.

A pinhole camera (camera obscura) is easy to make… Take an old cardboard box and cut a window in one end. Tape aluminum foil over the window and poke a hole through it with a pin. The rounder the hole, the better it works. Aim the hole at the sun and watch the projected image of the sun inside the box. Use a piece of white paper in the box as a projection screen for better contrast.

I still have my eclipse viewer from 2017. That one was only partially viewable in my location, and the sky was overcast, anyway. But today is bright and sunny and is supposed to stay that way. My viewer is actually made to cover the lens of my DSLR, so I’ll try to capture an image or two with it.

It is hard to see the eclipse through wet lettuce.

If nothing else, the oil in the dressing might be good for your hair. The other stuff, not so much. Blame it on a brief moment of Lunacy.

It’s just getting too easy to write and illustrate Marjorie Taylor Greene jokes these days.
