Sadly, today there are far too many people who cannot read the last panel and thus do not get the joke.

What’s wrong with the first Z? It looked perfect.

I once said that I wish my handwriting was as beautiful as my sister’s. She answered “My handwriting may be beautiful, but nobody can read it; yours is ugly, but easily readable.”

My Dad had the most beautiful cursive handwriting. Even as an 88 year old. so artistic. Me, 30 years younger…the arthritis in my hands makes my penmanship unreadable.

This strip taught me how to write cursive z’s. My teacher didn’t know how, so she just told us to write regular Z’s.

Well, here’s a letter you can practice your cursive with… “D”! How do you do a minus sign in cursive?

My “handwriting” has become a mix of printing and cursive. I’m in my 60’s. I was looking at my elementary school report cards on day in my twenties. The teacher commented that my handwriting would better if I didn’t try to be an individualist and give odd shapes to the letters. LOL! Even at that young age I just had to unique.

Cursive Zs have always looked odd to me. Especially capital Zs, which look like 2s.

Cursive rules! But I have to practice a bit to make it readable, even to me.

I never did understand why cursive Zs looked like that. It was one of the first letters I went back to printing.
