I belonged to those who aren’t especially when it came to algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Thankfully, my high school closed before I could take calculus in my senior year.
If you didn’t learn to do simple arithmetic, you can potentially be cheated in every financial transaction you make for the rest of your life. Most people won’t take advantage of you, but some will, and when they get away with it, they’ll do it again and again.
Reminds me of an old joke, a HS had an alumni day and a math teacher ran into one of his old students. He said to him, “I’m surprised you did so well with your business, you were one of my worst students.” The former student replied, “I got lucky, I was able to make a widget for $1 and sell it for $1.50 and after a while that 10% really adds up!”
