The deer tick is a very small tick. Once attached to a moose they can grow to the size of a large grape over the winter. Our winters have gotten so mild that a moose can have hundreds of thousands on them in spring. The ticks are literally sucking the life right out of them. Diminishing the moose population.
My wife got out of the shower and asked me to check her for ticks…
I then asked her if she knew the time and she said “Do I look like I have a watch on me?” to which I responded with “You’re right, I just looked you over and I didn’t see a tick or a tock.”
I saw a video where if you squeeze the blood filled part of a tick it will make his legs open out, and they go back when you let go. (Well, maybe if you do it….I’m not squeezing any ticks today.)
Worst part about a tick is the aftermath, the swelling and the itching can go on for days. I’ve got three bites on me now. The joys of living in a forest.

This is not (or not much of) an exaggeration. A tick really can expand about that much if it has enough blood that it can suck up.

There is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, funny about ticks. They only compare well to politicians.

The CDC reports that it’s more likely humans are bit by nymphs and female ticks. So perhaps Harv is actually Hilda.
