I’ve read that McD and other fast foods places have pictures of the food items on the register keys so the clerks don’t have to enter the total or spell the item names.
I find that ordering through the app improves the odds of getting what I want. I hate cluttering my phone with the apps, so I have cut down the number of fast food places I eat.
I remember going into a little place on West Genesee Street in Syracuse, 2 o’clock in the morning, with a group of friends all slightly (some more, some less) intoxicated. The joint had a large billboard-type display behind the cashier and we stood there staring at it trying to decide what we wanted. Finally my friend Tommy stepped up and gave the poor cashier the most convoluted order possible. The cashier turned around , stared at the board, looked back at Tommy and said,“Do you see that up there?” Tommy pointed and said, " Yeah, right there." The cashier just shook his head and placed the order.
I remember one time when I was at a McDonald’s, I ordered a large McFlurry, but the one they gave me didn’t look like a large, it looked more like a small.
I went in and the menu didn’t have double burgers. It had burger and cost for extra burger. I ordered a burger with 2 extra patties and confused the cashier. He called his manager and they pushed buttons, and it worked. I may have ordered one of the first triple burgers back in the 70’s.
INO doesn’t use kiosks or apps that I’m aware of for ordering. Old fashioned service at the counter. And their uniforms and hats are all white. Very clean place

How about a tomato bun, with pickles, medium rare. Animal fries with chopped chilis, a root beer float and a Scooby snack?

The funny thing is, the three “Over-And-Out” franchises I’ve been “in-and-out” of DO NOT have picture menus posted, ONLY words and numbers……………
