Grape juice, bug juice. Both of them should be aged.

A free meal while you ride. What’s wrong with that?

Red grapes are delicious (much better than boring dry Oreos, if you ask me.) But yeah, get the seedless ones!

Eating a bug while cycling is gross. Getting one stuck in your helmet is annoying. Getting a stinging bug stuck in your helmet, no fun at all. Swallowing a stinging insect… gotta be the worst.

Seems, like the kid, everyone wants the easy way – everything done for him/her. Guess that’s why the term YOLO has become a signature for recent generations.

I accidentally ate maggots when they got into the saltines. They don’t taste very good.

Best to ride on high, bug-free plains.

When our middle son worked at Boy Scout camp, there was counselor in the Nature department who taught Wilderness Survival; he told me loved the job because for the rest of his life, he could under “job duties” on his résumé “eating bugs”.

In my bicycling experience the bug gos straight down your throat, so there is no tasting, just coughing.

Low in cholesterol, high in protein, cicadas can be cooked many ways but a bit bland so add flavorings. Even dip ’em in chocolate.

Not sure which words in my original post were banned by GoComics it included cooking methods. Fry, roast, saute, marinate, toast. ……and now separated into two posts the words are all acceptable.

I will grant that seedless grapes are better, and that the seeds taste rather weird, but you would think that a kid would consider their possibilities as projectiles. On a semi-related note, Pasquale over at “Rose is Rose” once taught his mother to make a sandwich with peanut butter and fresh red grapes instead of jelly.

Frazz was once talking to a kid at lunchtime about packaged, processed foods, and the kid asked him about the heavily packaged item he was eating. Frazz said, “It’s a banana, and now you’re scaring me.”

Y’all are on crack. Concord grapes with the seeds are drastically tastier than the boring seedless kind.

Depends on the bug. There are a lot different tastes, like with meat, too. Some bugs do taste like grape seeds.

That’s one reason why I rode with a full-face bicycle helmet, to strain out the bugs. The other reason is was was unsure about the medical profession’s ability to put my face back together /twice/ after I got killed in 2001 (v. long story).
