NATIONAL HAVE A COKE DAY. At first, I read this as Have a Cookie Day. I was going to say, “Well drat! I had some cookies but I ate the last one yesterday.” But it’s Coke Day. I don’t have any Coke either, but would Pepsi be okay? I do have some of that.
Halfway across the world, Chez and Jack are boring poor Violet to death. THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes yesterday! Long drive to do some snowshoeing only to find it all melted out, but still had a nice day and a good lunch.
Crikey, put another shrimp on the barbie, mate! That’s most of the Australian slang I know. Anybody remember Bushy Tales? The one with Doug the Wombat? That was such a great comic. Wish it was still on Gocomics. On another note, saw a woodpecker, a dragonfly, a spotted towhee, two robins, a wren, a damselfly, and a chickadee while out walking today.

Will one of our Aussie friends provide an American English translation?
I spent a month traveling with a group from Down Under. They were great fun and very nice people.

I understand that Aussies don’t actually drink Foster’s. I heard one bloke say it tasted like…uh…never mind.

It does seem to be that you don’t get an Australian passport without passing the “colorful” test. :)

This strip is beautifully timed – our Australian friend arrived today for a six-week visit to the UK and Ireland.
