The eclipse did two things our political leaders cannot.

It slowed global warming and gave us all something to look up to.

A lunar day lasts roughly 4 earth weeks. So a lunar hour is longer than an earth day. Is a “lunar time” clock running really slow?

During the Apollo missions, the mission control center was in Houston. It seems logical to use Central Standard Time for Lunar operations

Why LTC for Coordinated Lunar Time? Why not CLT?

Isn’t it forbidden for any country to claim territory on the moon? If so, how can NASA set the time zone?

It will be interesting to see how NASA solve the time issue, one full rotation of the mood on its axis is 27 days days here on Earth, so each “Lunar Hour” is approx 7 minutes and 30 seconds longer than here.

I’m not absolutely sure, but I think all satellites and spacecraft use the same GMT. Guessing that GMT would be best to track moon time. I would THINK the best second way to track time on the moon, though not perfect, is to match the moon’s time to match with the majority time zone the moon is over the earth of.

Didn’t they have too many sun costumes for a count and therefore not get the official Guinness record?

The total eclipse we had this year was my first total one. I was very surprised how dark it got.
