Shwam’s joke is not only true it’s funny.

They use their speed to get into water quickly, especially if they’re being pursued by jaguars!

When I was a docent in the Bronx Zoo, I was giving a class of fifth graders a reptile house tour. There was a large tortoise exhibit and one little girl said “which are the boys and which are the girls?” and I said “I don’t know, but they know.”

Walking back to the bus, we went past the capybaras. There were ten or so as I recall, and two were busily trying to increase their numbers, if you know what I mean. I leaned to the teacher and whispered “should I ask which is the boy and which is the girl?”

I love capybara eyes!
