My Tortie, Tosh “ate” a whole couch once. Not all at once of course. But those tiny claws were very efficient. We bought it in the Final Sale section at Wards. I couldn’t smell anything, but she could.
The insurance company declared my car a total loss. I knew they would after talking to the mechanic on Monday. He ran some sort of chemical test which suggested there could be hidden internal damage to the engine. It wouldn’t make sense to fix the car. So, while I’m sad and disappointed about the loss of my car, I have to accept it. The good news is that the insurance company is giving me a lot more money than I expected to get. It isn’t enough to cover the purchase of another used car, but it’s enough to help. The worst part of all of this is that now I have to go car shopping and of all the things I’ve ever had to do in my life, car shopping is right near the top of the list of things I HATE to do. It might even be #1 on my list.
You shred it, you buy it. I’ve had this happen to me. I’ve found the best way to deal with cats scratching the furniture is to cover the furniture with a blanket so the claw marks don’t show. (Hey, it’s better than nothing.) On another note, saw a Wilson’s warbler, three dragonflies, two juncos, four robins, a squirrel, two ravens, and two Steller’s jays while out walking today.

It doesn’t stand up to discerning kitty claws.

That couch needs a heavy canvas liner.

Are these originals? They’ve been really funny lately (without trying Annie out instead). Thanks, Graham!

You have to buy the couch now, Chesney and Jack. Do NOT charge it to Annie!

I actually looked into the idea of having a sofa upholstered in Kevlar but it would have been fabulously expensive.
