Charles “Sparky” Schulz passed on February 12, 2000, and on May 27, 2000, over 50 cartoonists included Peanuts references in their own strips, Mike Peters being one of them. This being May 27, I wonder if that’s why CB is portrayed in this one. This strip’s archive only goes back to 11/25/02; so, I can’t say if this is close to what Mr. Peters used in 2000.
Recently our neighbors cat ran up about 20 feet into a tree and couldn’t get down. We tried for over 12 hours, no luck. We called the fire department, they said the fire department does not get cats out of trees. There are no cat skeletons in trees.

Just one, CB?

He won’t want that cat. That’s the one that sliced a big chunk out of Snoopy’s dog house!

At least this tree didn’t eat the kite.

Why bother, Charlie Brown? The kite is already eaten.

Fireman: That depends, son. The tree might have ate it by now.

So Attila got trapped in the kite eating tree. Was he dessert or a side?

Hope you can get your priorities straight, Chuck.

Luckily, for the cat, it isn’t a kite eating tree.

Best bring the axe for protection. That Kite eating tree has big chompers.

Didn’t think those strips were in the same neighborhood.
