Started watching a movie last night…‘The Electrical Life of Louis Wain’. It’’s a true story and has a somewhat eclectic feel to it in the beginning, but eventually gets easier to follow. I can’t wait to get back to it tonight and watch the ending. It’s about Cats! Anyone else seen it yet?
Chez could use a day like this. Took my car in yesterday to fix the mouse problem. Was concerned it would cost $400 or so. Nope, the entire dash and blower system is filled with nests and is damaged beyond repair and must be replaced. After the $1600 worth of parts come in, it’s a 2 -3 day job estimated at over $3000!!!
The issue with repellents (such as Bounce) for keeping them out is that when I park at a trailhead there can be NO odor coming from my car, bear’s noses are about 1000 times stronger than ours and they will rip a car apart for a gum wrapper or less. What I am trying is leaving a rag soaked in ammonia, in an open plastic bag on a plate under the hood. Leaving the bottle of ammonia on the front seat so I do not forget to remove it when I use the car. Mothballs would probably help but who wants to breathe in that smell? I am hoping any lingering smell of ammonia will not attract a bear. The mechanic (who kindly put his arm on my shoulder when he gave me the bad news) suggested I also make an insurance claim. I have AAA, and probably a $1000 deductible, but it’s certainly worth a fight to get anything back.
He looks so happy. Do nothing days are great. We really could use more of them. On another note, saw four juncos, six robins, a rabbit, and a woodpecker while out walking today.

Good for you, Oliver! I enjoy doing nothing some days.

It’s a somewhat unorthodox definition of meditation that sums it up pretty well.

Thanks, Oliver, now I’ve got this earworm in my head (A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court):
We’re busy doin’ nothin’
Workin’ the whole day through
Tryin’ to find lots of things not to do
We’re busy goin’ nowhere
Isn’t it just a crime
We’d like to be unhappy, but
We never do have the time
