Beginning of the end of all this tom-foolery. Time for Gene and Mary Lou to get real jobs. They have yet to make a dime in the restaurant business and getting free labor from A&J is not going to change that.
Spent 42 years as a commercial lender. I made restaurant loans where someone owned at least 4 successful restaurants and wanted to try a fifth. No first timers allowed in the door. It is a brutal business (worse than the other brutal business I specialized in, home construction). There are no assets in a restaurant…..equipment, appliances, furniture sell at auction for less than 10 cents on the dollar. If you are leasing a former restaurant (common curse, someone already failed there, likely because of location, traffic, parking) the landlord will jack your rent as you succeed, making it hard to benefit from your hard work. Don’t do it!
I see Janice failed at the prep and the kids mainly use the time to do prep for the after work crowds that they serve. This is a way for them to get her out of the way and have a ‘just in case someone shows up early’. It also allows her to save face and feel useful?
I am very confused. The whose set was how crazy busy they are and need help. They needed her to fill 5 positions simultaneously in the set up. But now ….
a) They can afford to have her just lazing around for hours doing nothing? b) Where is all the business they’ve been referencing?

Janis, it’s time to realize that this isn’t what you want. Discuss this with Arlo and I’m sure he’ll back you up.

There’s nothing wrong with the word “waitress”, you know. Nor “actress”. Stopping butchering the language already.

How do the kids stay in business with no customers? They are shown making lots of food.

If I looked in and saw some woman with a huge jaw and no mouth, I too would be reluctant to enter the establishment.

Perhaps this is a private gated community. They don’t allow the public in there.

Bring a book, Janis. Afternoons are slow. They should just close from 1:30 to 4:30. They are take out anyway.
