There’s a certain radar that cats have when you rip open a bag of tuna about four rooms away (kitchen) and your cat’s in the livingroom, supposedly sleeping! The cat is by you in a shot because of the smell of tuna.
I read an article on dogs’ sense of smell in Trooper Magazine years back. It said they scent on dead skin cells measured in parts per million. It said a German Shepherd can smell out a bad guy in a building the size of the Empire State Building. By contrast, a Bloodhound can find a person in a city the size of Philadelphia!
